SCREEN EDITOR

Navaz Illava is a Brisbane-based editor whose craft is grounded in documentary storytelling, where she brings nuance, care, and attention to the voices of those often unheard. With family roots in India and a childhood spent in Australia, Navaz delves into stories that weave together the threads of our shared humanity.
Her editing experience spans feature films, television series, commercials, music videos, social media campaigns, web series, and short-form narratives. Moving fluidly across formats and genres, Navaz thrives on being hands-on with the craft, embracing both the technical and intuitive sides of the edit suite. She is deeply drawn to editing as both a tool and an art form, always exploring what can be revealed, suggested, or transformed within a single cut.
Collaboration sits at the heart of her practice, believing the strongest ideas emerge through trust, openness, and shared exploration.
She seeks out spaces that nurture curiosity and challenge, shaping stories with care and precision.
